NCGP County Academy Programme

Academy Downloads:

Formerly known as Club & Coach, the County Academy Programme aims to provide coaching to players above beginner level but below County Squad level. Recruitment into the CAP Programme is from schools via the PESSYPs as well as through clubs.

In order to be able to deliver this coaching, the coaches themselves must be coached and a major part of the CAP is the upskilling of volunteers.

Academy Assessment Days:

After a successful first year, the Northumberland County Golf Partnership held FREE assessment days for 180 children aged 9 to 15 to apply to our Academy program for 2011-12.

Assessments were held on:

Saturday 8th of October at Close House GC between 12pm and 5pm and Sunday 9th of October at Parklands GC between 10am and 4pm.

Those who qualified have been invited to become a member of the NCGP Academy where they will work with one of our Academy professionals throughout the county. The program will include psychology, course management, nutrition as well as 12 hours of technical coaching.

The Academy is aimed at children who are showing potential, they do not have to be a member of a golf club or have a handicap.
