Formerly known as Club & Coach, the County Academy Programme aims to provide coaching to players above beginner level but below county squad level. Recruitment into the Academy is from schools and clubs, anyone aged 9-15years are welcome to attend our Assessment days.
In order to be able to deliver this coaching, the coaches themselves must be coached and a major part of the CAP is the upskilling of volunteers to PGA Level 1 and to provide CPD for our PGA Professionals.

Matfen Hall Academy Day
29/10/12.
We would like to thank Matfen Hall for their hospitably, the Par 3 course was in good condition and the Driving Range areas were correct for the skills test. I would like to thank J.J. Valley for sorting skills test and my fellow coaches Gordon Morrison, David Ord and Nikki Hunter who all helped starting off, helping on course and with the skills test. The day was a success with 46 pupils from the Academy attending, a few girls were missing due to a Northumberland Girls day out had been planned plus a few Clubs had Junior Competitions on. The day had been organized by Marcus Webb and Jason Budd, the format seemed to work well so quite a few of the parents could meet Coaches and Officials. The Results of the day.
