Schools and Communities

Golf Roots was introduced in 2003 to provide opportunities for children and young people in places where golf had not previously been see as an option. The project has now evolved into the largest and most successful junior golf development project in Great Britain.

Golf Roots is the umbrella programme for all Golf Foundation initiatives, Tri-Golf, Golf Xtreme and Junior Golf Passport. Please click on the logo's for more information.

It is a single national programme for the grass roots of golf that develops skills for life, both playing and personal, amongst young people.

The Golf Foundation also offers training workshops for volunteers, teachers and coaches in order to ensure that the specialised equipment can be used safely and effectively.

Clubs are encouraged to work with the Golf Foundation to make a pathway for children from school based golf activities to clubs.
